Bodies
Evangelos Katsanos

Description: A painting that abstractly depicts human figures in a scene full of tension and movement. It is a sensory work, a primal depiction that causes violent sensation. A sense of fluidity in the figures, with their movements seeming to intertwine in a painting that represents an intensely emotional scene of conflict that captures the energy of the moment.

The materiality that exists was caused by marks like smudges with a cloth, spatula in some places and rags pressed on the fresh paint to leave their random imprint, even sandpaper was used. All this constitutes a commitment to the "painting act".

About the artist: My name is Katsanos Evangelos, I was born and live in Ioannina, Greece. I am 39 years old and a final year student of the school of Fine Arts of the University of Ioannina. I am an anthropocentric artist interested in the expression of emotions through the distortion of forms, randomness in art and materiality. During my studies I have participated in many group exhibitions, with works of painting, photography and video art, in Greece and abroad.
